About the JIB-PMES

The JIB-PMES has been providing a range of benefits and services since 1972, many of which remain as relevant today as they have ever been. 

Employers can access these benefits and services in either of the following ways:

• As members of the Welfare Benefit scheme

Or

• As members of the Holiday Credit scheme

Participation in either of the above schemes allows access to the full range of JIB-PMES welfare benefits which helps employers to recruit and retain the best staff.

Thousands of employers also engage with the JIB-PMES by supporting the registration of their operatives through the JIB-PMES CSCS Registration and Grading scheme.

The Joint Industry Board for Plumbing Mechanical Engineering Services in England and Wales (JIB-PMES) is:

• an independent and neutral ‘not for profit’ organisation
• a benefits and service provider for employers and employees in Plumbing and Mechanical Engineering Services sector
• custodian of the National Working Rule Agreement for Plumbing and Mechanical Engineering Services
• a partner organisation to the CSCS Registration scheme.

The objectives of the JIB-PMES are to:

• Maintain a register of qualified plumbers and related occupations
• Agree the terms and conditions of employment and Industrial Agreement for the PMES sector
• Show leadership and encourage progress within the industry
• Regulate relations between employers and operatives
• Provide benefits for people working in the industry
• Improve skills and proficiency
• Improve and maintain welfare and safety standards
• Support harmonious relations between employers and operatives.

The JIB-PMES is a partnership

The JIB-PMES board comprises nominated representatives from employer organisations APHC and NFB and Unite the Union. Together they represent the interests of the plumbing industry in England and Wales.
